I was chatting with a coworker tonight and he was telling me about this buddy of his who "had" a 220g reef tank. I don't know his name so he'll just be "the guy".

He had a 220g set up on a homemade stand. The stand buckled, the tank literally split in half, and then the 50g sump proceeded to pump it's water out as well. 270g everywhere but in the tank. If that wasn't bad enough the light fixture above started on fire and burnt the wall.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? For the locals, the guy lives off of Lineville, and his parents are actually only about 2 miles from me on E.

He rebuilt! I'm trying to recruit him, I was told he didn't have the internet. I give him credit, I don't think I'd be able to rebuild the tank after a tragedy like that... well that and the fact that there's not a chance my hubby would let me!

No bell....Bring him on board, if nothing else for the entertainment value.

Work on pictures Jess - the Shock and Awe value would be huge!

if he took pics of that... that just reinforces that if I ever get a big tank (100g+) for an in-wall setup I'm having my hubby make a welded stand with lots of bracing!

I live not too far off Lineville and it doesn't ring a bell. I will have to check around at the next Howard - Suamico fish club and school board meeting.
