So how did the heatwave affect your tank?

I think I dodged a bullet
I was out of town over the weekend
Came home on sun 10pm and the tank water was 84 and that was the coolest day of the weekend!

So far no losses. Knock on wood
Hope it stays this way since maybe there's a massive dead off of micro size critters that I can't see.
Funny but some corals seem to have more color then b4????

All seems fine skimmer output looks the same. Used up 5 gal of topoff in 2 days.
A wake up call for sure

Did any of you guys lose anything?

I have a Innovative Marine 25 gallon Lagoon and everything was all good. Majority of corals I have are euphyllia, so they didn't take any hit at all with the hot temps.

I still need to connect my Apex just so I can monitor my temps while I am out of town.

My pH went to all new lows due to the house being all closed up with the AC on. Saturday night I was awoken to my Apex alarming to low pH. Then Sunday morning I woke up to find that my return pump had stopped at some point during the night. I don't "think" it was heat related but it may have been. It is designed to automatically turn off if it gets too hot. I did a quick clean on it and put everything back together and it seems ok.

With the low pH and crazy temp swings in the tank due to the pump fiasco, everything seems ok. I think I also dodged a bullet!

With my fan and keeping the AC at 79 degrees, I was able to keep tank temps below 80.3 degrees.

My 60 gallon hit 84! So I started dropping blocks of iced RODI . Everything ok. One of my chalices looked a bit off but ok now I think.

I was definitely worried about my tanks. They're in a single car garage, uninsulated. I blasted a bunch of large fans and kept my lights off for 2 days and my water stayed under 80. I might invest in a small AC unit for times like these

My tank's normal temperature swing is 79.5 - ~83 every day. No different during the heat wave, only the MHs cut off early to keep the tank from getting hotter than 83.5.

No Power outage in my area, Central Air working great, all is good, not affected by Harvey the Heat Wave.

The dentist office near me always turned their ac up into the 80s over the weekend. Ended up killing everything in their 90 gallon except for their blue tang and butterfly fish
