I usually can find most fish that are some what rare in the trade. Everyone I have spoke to say good luck. What s the big deal it lives in the carribean ocean, though it is in soem pretty deep water. Does anyone know where I can get one of these?

Liopropoma Carmambi. Picture from advanced aquarist. thanks, Tim

I have called several places in search of this fish. It is the ONE I want to add to my current tank. I called a source called Marine Gardens and they said that they would put me at the top of the list. But they also said that the last one they saw was several years ago. They always average around 400.00. The Holy Grail of Basslets.

A place like that will have a hard time. You need the contact a step or two before retail for the most part. T

Also the retail price they have listed of 400 is not even close to what you would actually pay. Bare in mind they have a boylei on their site, why I don't know, for 3500. If thats the case I'll take all the boyleis they can get. You would be hard pressed to find one for under 10,000 if they could actually get one.

$3500 dead!!! :eek1:

I would agree you will probably need more connections. 400 bucks would be a steal. If you came accross one 600 would probably be what I would expect to pay.

I haven't seen one in years.

ezmarine will send via Taiwan or Africa. I don't know how difficult it is for you guys to import livestock though. I guess you would need a broker.

They have one now in HK, they keep it in a small acrylic tank floating in a reef tank, I guess thats the only way to really enjoy a fish you pay so much for and then see him once in a while.

We have had a greater availability of them this year than any previous year. I believe we have had four in the past 8 months. Don't know what's up. They have been collected in Bonarie and shipped to the Keys. All have done great, and actually quite bold.
