So I fed my RBTA Anemone today for the first time.

I went to a local guy who had posted live rock for sale. I ended up with this live rock, rbta, blue tang, and blood shrimp. I had not really planned on having an rbta, but I got it with the rest of the stuff. The guy I bought it from said that it mostly just hides. It was in his nano tank.

In my tank, it chose a rock and has been climbing a little higher on the rocks. I figured that it was eating leftovers from feeding the fish, but it hasn't really looked much like an anemone, as far as having its tentacles extended much. It quite small too. The base is around the diameter of a quarter, maybe a bit more. I read about feeding it silversides, but I have already got too much frozen/refrigerated food in the fridge. So....

I went out to the frozen Koi pond in my backyard and busted the ice. I fished around with a net and finally got a hold of tiny minnow/mosquito fish. He was pretty much stunned from the cold. He was not much more than a 1/4" in length. I have some hemostat things and I quickly crunched his head to euthanize him. Then, in he went. The RBTA went after it and sucked it down. It was really cool. I showed my kids the anemone about 30 minutes later when they came home from school. Its now among the more interesting things in my tank.

The anemone is just to the right of the powerhead in the pic.
