So it begins, 90G build thread

Thanks, but I have 2 other bedrooms that need the same treatment first. Maybe I need to put tanks in those rooms to for the same encouragement. :)

Yes honey, a small QT in the bedroom and those fish could be yours! LOL

A little update to my build. This one comes from a local reef club member that no longer needs it.

I'm hoping to have a big update to the thread next week. Maybe a new thread altogether ;)

No photos, but my TwoLittleFishes Phosban reactor came in today. Nice looking piece of equipment for the money.

Also today I picked up the 30G tank I purchased from Stumpy08. It will become a temporary home for my fishes while the main display goes up then it will become a quarantine tank.

oooo be careful my TLF PhosReactor blew apart and had to be replaced by a Kent one. Seems the top of the TLF reactor is made of two interlocking pieces not one solid one which means it can have a major malfunction.

Just thought you might like to know.

I appreciate the warning, I will keep an eye out for it for sure. The last thing I need is that thing nuking on me.

The reason I chose the TLF is because of several threads were people tried both it and the Kent. Just about everyone that posted preferred the TLF. They may have posted why but I don't recall. For the price, it was worth the try. Hopefully my next one will be a Geo or Precision Marine, but then again I hope I never need a 'next one'.

There seems to be only a small difference but looking at both I can say I the only thing I like about the Kent over the TLF is that it doesn't use the thumbscrews to keep the top on, and the top is made of that solid piece. That's it though, in operation I don't think you will see much difference. Does'nt the TLF one come with a valve though?

No screws with this TLF reactor either, the top screws on like a jar, actually it looks like a single piece to me but I didn't inspect it that close.

Oh, and it did come with a valve to help control flow.
