I bought a perfectly helthy group of sunburst zoas about 2 months ago. A few of the polyps have quickly changed into what apears to be mutants. For example:

They move like the rest of the polyps, in at night, out during the day, in when disturbed etc. They seem to be doing just fine, but I'm still worried as I need to sell the livestock of this tank of relatively quickly...

Those are aptasia stinging the crap out of your polyps. Look at the orange rimmed polyps at the top that are being touched by them.

Button polyps.

Take the frag out of the water. If they look like snot the they are in fact aptaisia. Polyps will hold thier shape!

They may be button polyps. Either way I would remove them.

botton polyps seem to be more aggressive growers than your typical zoa/paly/protopaly.

Doesn't look like aptasia to me. The skirt is way too short for aptasia. Looks like a polyp to me.

They don't look like Aiptasia. The way they are stinging the zoas looks the same though. I would remove them.

I do think they are aiptasia though. Look how the big one is growing out of the hole in the rock.

Those aren't polyps, their are pest anemones.

they are majono. get rid of them. they spread like mad and are hard to get rid of.
