But, is there anything from SW that can infect humans and cause itching throughout the body but mainly concentrated on the limbs?

Please say no...

yes... several things.

The most notorious are things like bristle/fire worms and people playing with zoas. theres a million other things in a tank one can be alergic to as well.

Scraped the back of my hand one time on live rock. Next thing I know my hand swelled up a little, and the spot that scraped on the rock was itchy. Went down after a few hours and stopped itching. I dont think you have too much to worry about.

Hmm, I'll look into the salt thing, except my legs itch, too. I don't have any zoas or bristleworms/fireworms. I was more getting onto something that penetrates the skin and then starts to live in you.

Just wikied scabies. First introduction and pictures of that thing made me horrified. But, continueing to read on, I am EXTREMELY happy to say I do not have that!

This is more of a mild itch every few hours to every other day or so, more of an inconvienence.

Yikes. Take thee to a doctor! A guy I know who works at a LFS had a cut on his hand, forgot about it, and cleaned out a bunch of skimmers. He ended up at the emergency room because his hand swelled up like a baseball mitt--they told him he was lucky he'd come in when he did, because he had a serious infection.

We can continue to discuss all your ailments here, but the last time I checked, this isn't WEBMD.COM....... As a matter of fact, My ARSE is itchin'. Can any one recommend a good cream??? :lmao:

Just sayin'.... Your not going to get good advise here.

Go see a doctor!:wavehand:

Wish you well.....

I got pranged by something recently when I was removing a frag from my tank last week. I think it was a bristleworm--my finger got real sore and swelled a bit, and I ended up removing a tiny splinter-like sliver from the spot a day or two later. It's still a little sore now, almost a week later.
