So what do we really know about DAMSELS?

Ok, so this one's been sitting in the back of my mind for 10+ years. I know, who's crazy enough to want to breed damsels...you can't possibly make a dime!

Well...I'm pretty "anti-damsel" normally, but there's one that gets me every time I see it and I miss the one I used to keep so long ago - Chrysiptera starki.

Exactly HOW nasty do they get when they're paird up? Anyone ever bred any of the Chrysiptera species? How do the pair up (no way we're lucky enough to have sequential hermaphrodites in this genus, right?). If anyone's bred them, CAN they be raised?

Not like I even have the tankspace for a pair, but hey, it's 2:45 AM and I'm being a worry wart watching the mandarin eggs...gotta keep myself busy so I don't fiddle with their air flow TOO much ;)

Well, I have been "crazy enough" about half of my life.
Guess you don´t feel like searching the forum at 2.45 AM.

LOL Luis, I didn't feel like doing ANYTHING other than sleeping at 2:45 AM ;) DARN mandarins.

This is a good question...about damsels. I've got a pair that formed of Green Chromis. They are of different size, are dichromatic (to a degree), and display mating dances and fin fluttering similar to clowns. Does anyone have any information on their spawning habits?

Not too long ago some run of the mill "blue" damsels were spawning in a tank at a lfs. Problem was the nest tender (male?) was obvious but no way to know which of the 8 or 10 other fish in the tank was the mate. Rather than buy them all I passed
