I haven't named a fish in 20 years... decided it doesn't serve a purpose. I don't name something unless it will respond to it's name. I also have never named any of my vehicles.. when I used to go to car shows with my mustang people would ask me it's name.. I thought it was the oddest practice, but fairly common. I only named my cats because the vet requires it... so one is named Meatwad the other is Jesus Ezekiel Jesus. otherwise they respond just fine to kitty.

Only named fish in the Reef are the Mr and Mrs and Mrs Anthias trio and Arthur - the Clarkii clown.
FOWLR is a different story.
Every fish has a name.
Koran Angel - Karen - after a friend
Pakistani BF - Stan, after human Karen's husband
Desjardini - Floyd, cuz he's a pretty boy
Powder Blue - HAL, because IBM is Big Blue and so is he (2001)
Naso - Mr T for his dorsal fins, however it is more likely to become Misty - no streamers yet
Flagfin Angel - Lippy for her purple lips
Red Coris Wrasse - Corey
Declivis BF - Spike
Vagabond BF - Hobo
Dot-Dash BF - Dash
Rusty Angel - Rusty
Potters Angel - Harry
Heniochus - Henny, like Youngman
DW Goby - Grumpy, for his face
Mandarin - Patti
Longnose BF - Jimmy ( Durante )
Yellow Face BF - Chief - his chin juts like a cigar store Indian

My stingray is named Igor. He keeps begging to be fed dead fish.
I only have two saltwater fish as I am only starting a reef tank in a few weeks but I do have a planted with some goldfish and plecos and I've named them all lol.
