soap box rant/ Car Insurance

Ok I'm on a rampage! I was involved in a car accident Friday. Not to bad and not my fault. Just can't drive my new car that has only 3,500 miles that I purchased Sept 1 because I can't open the door more than a foot. Well the auto advance truck that hit me, insurance does not want to pay. They want me to file a claim with my insurance and my insurance Arbitrate with them to pay for it. So I would have to put out the deductible of $500. What a load of crap. It was clearly not my fault.
We'll back in February one of my drivers in one of our company trucks was hit and no fault to him and the at fault persons insurance would not pay. We had to file a claim with our insurance and pay the deductible so repairs could be made. It took three months for our company to settle with theirs and we got our deductible back.
From what I am now learning this seems to be a common practice for insurance companies to do so here is a site to inform all www.badfaithinsurance.org

The same thing happened to me back in the Summer. A lawn Spray truck hit me an did $2500.00 worth of damage. The insurance compnay told me the same thing that you explained. I was lucky enough it only took 4 weeks to get my deductable back. As they say you cant fight City Hall. If you want your car fixed that is the way to go about it.

Yes I agree is stinks but my truck is fixed and you cant even tell it was hit. Sorry about your accident, I take it you came out without any injuries.

Sorry bout your luck but someone put a huge foot and a half long gouge in my rear quarter panel of my truck in a parking lot a couple months ago. They hit and ran unbeknownst to me. So I have to pay for it out of my own pocket.

Also earlier in the year last year someone hit both my car AND my truck out in front of my house. Got the front headlight area of both vehicles. Hit and run. Have to pay out of my own pocket. People suck. If they would have let me know both times I wouldn't have been so ****ed off about it when I noticed it on both occasions.

I must be lucky I got rearended by a guy that had geico and they cam out that week and wrote a check for the estimated amount and then I took it to a shop and when they took it apart they said it would be more so geico came back out and paid the extra amount. At the same time they paid for a rental.

I got hit by a guy who had Geico also and had the same experience with them. They were right on it from the minute I got hit until I picked up my car. They asked on the phone, while I was at the accident site, if I would need a rental and by the time I got to my office a block away, Enterprise was there to take me to get my rental.
