Hi Nick,
Try looking up Hincksia. I'll dig through my books and see what I can find. What temperature do you keep your water at? Do you test your nitrates, phosphates, etc? What are they? Do you use RO/DI or another type of purified water for your saltwater and topoff?

My water is 78F (I think, its really 28C) , Nitrates are <5ppm and usually 0 nowadays, PH at 8.0 - 8.2. I don't test for phosphates. I use NSW for water changes (about 5% per month) and RO/DI for all top up. No carbon but I intend to start using it soon.
I will do a search around for Hincksia and see what I get.
