soft tree coral problems

I have a soft tree coral, it looks like a kenya tree. It's hasn't been looking good for a few weeks now. If i cut the top off with it regrow from the trunk?

If it's still alive, I'd just point a powerhead at it, and wait it out. My sinulara shrinks up for a week at a time pretty regularly.
