Sohal and Clown together?

So I am debating a stocking list for a very large prodject. Would these two fish be ok together in lets say a 700g tank? Or is that not enough space? If not then how large would a tank need to be in order to house them together?

I would say that a 700g isn't big enough. They are the most aggro tangs and having them both together would be risky to say the least and imo a little pointless.
If It was me I would have a Sohal and an achilles :)

Not in that size tank. One or the other. Both are incredibly aggressive. What value in those particular fish?

Not in that size tank. If i were you i would be very happy with either one in the tank. Just put a bunch of other tangs in the tank.

I just like both of them is all. What size would be recomended to hold both species together? I understand that they are some of the most aggresive tangs that is why I am asking for opinions on tank size for the 2 of them.

700g, I'd do it, heck if I had a 700g, I'd try to put in 30+ tangs, keeping in mind that your aquascaping is designed for a lot of fish (no wall rock design!). Go with what makes you happy. get them both at a younger age and see what happens. worst case scenario, one gets killed. I know others will disagree with me, and I respect their opinion, but in this hobby it's good sometimes to go against the norm.

dude you carnt just going putting fish in if you think they are going to kill each other. Im sorry but i think that is just worng!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I will try it and see the outcome.
You need to get them small and if one get to aggressive and don't let the other out of the rock work you know you need to get it out of the tank.
That is the way usually works with aggressive fish they just dominate the whole tank and don't let any one eat or get out in to the open waters good luck.

i'd go with the sohal. clowns have very poor track records in captivity and are more agressive than sohals believe it or not

Your post is irresponsible, non-factual and not helpful in the least:rolleyes:

I believe Goodwin9 has both a clown and a sohal in his 600gl tank, but he's a bit of a rebel...So many tang's might lead to less one on one aggression? I'd also add that clown tang's are pretty tough to keep alive without a sohal to deal with.

i have seen a clown and a sohal in a 300 gallon tank they got them around 4inches both, nad now there 8 or so w/o n e problems i would def. try it, i am much more risky when it coemss to reefing thats my style others will say different. If you are going to have alot of fish including tangs in their

1. the fish would be pretty distracted and not be able to pick on one fish too long just nippy here and there.

2. if you get they both young i would say it was fine.

this is jsut my opionon, everyone else has theirs as well.

meh, you should just get like 100 green chromis, jk.

Look, if you really want to give it a try then at least have a plan to take one out, and introduce them together.

dude 100 green chromis plus like 3 other relaly big tangs, like 10 inch or 12 icnh status would look so awsome, it would be like on the descovery channel when they show the huge ball of silver fish (i dont reme, ber their names) then like the dolphins and other big fish like swoop threw them and it looks so cool, thats what it would be like lol.

 50 might do ok...There is a guy that just started a 240 on SWF.com that got a harem of Anthias (forget which kind), 32 I think from Live Aquaria, they caught them together special for him...I think that is a cool idea too.

wow that is awsome, that would be really cool to see, once i get my 7000 gallon tank going i will let you know ahha
