Sohal scratching!

I have a Sohal tang in a QT, one month ago.

I never saw a white spot on his body, but the fish is scratching.
I dont know why!
cause is in a Hospital tank with cupramine 2 week ago. (I dont have copper test) but I followed cupramine label instructions.

what do you think?? why is still scratching?
tahnk you

Scratching how? Rubbing against items in the QT? It maybe a gill parasite, or could be nothing. I have a Hippo tang who swims like a maniac sometimes, in and out of the rock work acting like she is scratching, but she is as healthy as an Ox as is the rest of my tank. Maybe it's bored or the QT is too small and it needs more breathing room. Is it eating?

I had mine for almost a year now he w was in my 180(he was 3.5")
6 months ago I switched over to a 450
he wasn't nearly as active in 180 as he is in the 450 and has almost doubled in size, he tends to rub into things his favorite is a hairy mushroom I don't see any evidence of a parasite ich, or flukes and haven't given it much though. he's healthy active and eats like a pig and gets along with every fish in the tank.
his favorite is to swim into the stream of water from my tunze and turn sideways and ride the flow across the tank.

i will comment that they arent happy fish in smaller tanks tend to become aggressive and spiteful

yes, I know. this also eats like a pig, and is in a QT, only for several weeks. he will be back in my 300 DT. but I dont Know if he has a parasit. I tried with cupramine and he still scratching. I will make a total water change in QT. without any medication. and I will see. if he is still scratching I will add Prazipro..

My Sohal was a great fish..but it did require some intensive UV sterilizing to rid him of parasites....after about 2 months straight of running the UV I had no further problems.

could be normal. Could be flukes which are not susceptible to copper treatment.

Make sure to update us on the progress...the Sohal is such a beautiful fish..I remember having one shipped to me back in the 90's..I paid a pretty penny but it was definitely a 'show stopper' in the tank...Goodluck!
