I have a young sohal tang & anthias with ich, i just noticed it today
in my 75 gallon reef tank. I also have an old maroon clown, and some chromis that I'm worried may get effected. I have many inverts (hermit crabs, snails, etc) so I cant use copper solution in tank and its been dam near impossible to catch them without taking apart my tank.
PLEASE, ANY recommendations on how I should cure these fish is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Milt

If your going to take any fish out, you have to take them all out and treat with copper or hyposalinity and leave your tank fishless for 6 weeks to be reasonable certain of eradicating the parasite. A tricky (if you lack additional holding space) and risky (as the treatment can be hard on the fish) procedure for some fish. If it were me, I would go with leaving the fish in, keeping stress to a minimum and using a cleaner shrimp (or two) since you now have the bug in your system anyway. To hedge my bets I would also treat the fish with metronidazole added to the feed. There are some commercial preparations, but I've used my own feed in the past (squid, mussel & clam with metro at 250 mg/100 g of feed with a vitamin supplement). Success can't be guaranteed (but what is?) - I've had success with this approach. Much better to wait and see if disease develops before tearing down your system and considering treatment with hypo or copper. Fish can develop immunity to Cryptocaryon, so my view is to live with the parasite and avoid disease (one does not equal the other). Some of my fish have had ich - but none have died from it.

There are a ton of threads on this topic. No shortage of information - but be prepared for contradictory advice!
