Looking for some advice on those of you that have introduced a Sohal into your tank. You always get mixed reviews from people there aggressive or they never had in issue. I have a 300 gal mixed reef. This will be the last Tang I introduce into the tank. The tangs I already have are a Powder Blue, 2 Vilimingi, 1 Naso, 1 Des Jardans Sailfin, 1 yellow belly regal blue tang, 1 Yellow, 1 Orange Shoulder, 1 Purple. Need some advice the Sohal is 8 inches with trailers... :)

That sounds like a lot of tangs even for a tank as large as yours. As you know from the various posts, it will depend on the individual fish you have. It may or may not work and you won't know until you try it, so be prepared to take action if necessary. Sohals can be extremely aggressive so it should hold its own. Only time will tell whether upsetting the current dynamics of your tank with a sohal that likely will become the dominant fish will be a problem. Good luck.

I have the same size tank - and honestly the same tangs you have all except the powder blue and also have a Clown Tang. My Sohal goes about 10 inches without trailers.. He chases around the Naso a couple times a day has not killed anything and is a model citizen. I think the aggression is over exaggerated. Go for it you will be happy with him, they make the reef complete...

ime, he will only get more aggressive as he grows...I sold my last a few months back...he was over a foot and was becoming more aggressive and intolerant of other fish every day...these were fish he grew-up with and spent the last 4.5-5 years with...

You know it's bad when your responding to your own post with advice...lol.

I don't think I like the tap talk app..

As for the Sohal - I have no regrets..

Although while acclimating him he was smiling at me... Like he was the devil ;)

But after introducing him - he fit right in..ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21371520764.855650.jpg

Has been in there since December without an incident.. I'm very happy with the decision.. The people I have talked too that had problems really didn't feed there fish - I feed mi e 3 times a day.. So I think that curbs the aggression. At least I hope ;)

I had mine for 6 years just recently it starts to show aggression and I had to give him away. Killed my purple, yellow and majestic

Everyone has an opinion.

It's a beautiful fish. It seems that most people have them for a while, and they do great. Then one day when they're old enough, something starts to click and they start killing. It seems to take years before it happens. Based on what I've read.
