Is anyone in this thread still running their Solana 34g? I've had one set up for a while and have some questions.

Still have mine. 34g. Dealing with a bit of red slime at the moment but otherwise going strong.

Do you have any problems with detritus in the back? I'm dealing with a startup of cyano also and I think they are correllated.

I do. I get a baster back there and go to town. The tank is almost a year old and only recently started with cyano. My RO filter maintenance was lacking so I'm hoping that was the issue. I'll know soon enough.

What are you running as far as filtration is concerned? Any chemical filtration or skimmers or anything?

I have an Aquamaxx hob skimmer and a aqua clear 50 running floss and carbon.

Wow are you happy with the aquamaxx? I'm running a hydor slim skim nano and I have not been impressed.

Hello everyone,
I recently acquired a 34g Solana from a friend who had it just sitting in his garage. It has the return pump and skimmer w/pump, nozzles and the disco ball light but none of the "stuff" the manual shows that is suppose to go in the back compartments. What should I put in them? I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you!

If anyone still looks at this I was hoping they could give me some advice on removing the overflow chute on chamber one. I'm putting my skimmer in the first chamber from the second and I need to remove the chute in order for it to fit. I've taken scissors to it but only got about 4 inches of it out.
