It is spring loaded on either end.

Turn off the light :)

Grasp one end of the bulb, and slide twards the other end and you should be able to pull the bulbs down.

Note: When replacing the bulbs Don't touch the bulb with your fingers prior to putting it in. Use lint free cloth or soft paper towel.

Love these tanks. I just hate the part of the overflow that dives back into the corners. It seems that is where I am having the most trouble with redslime. Plenty of flow. 2x6025 modded. koralia 1 and stock return pump. Any ideas?

"Sorry i should have been more specific with my question how do you get the Glass shield off?"

Pry your fingers between the silver ring and the light housing. It will pop down. Work your way around you will be ok. There is a little chain in there to keep the lens from falling on the floor.

To put it back, put on end in and work your way around, pressing as you go. Pretty much like with a tupperware container, but much harder.

Here is a pic of mine.

is the bulb and ballast for the 150HQI something rebranded?

I was considering a lighing upgrade to a Solana. Anyone try a 150w radium 20k?

Finally couldn't stand the loud and inefficient stock skimmer any longer and went w/ the Tunze 9002 nano. I love this skimmer! I ended up converting the first section into a cheato refuge and the second chamber holds the tunze nano skimmer. Heres a pic from a couple months ago...

I'm getting this skimmate every 3 days or so. I'm running it a bit wet.

its a nice bulb but i personally would stay with the 14k bulbs due to the 20 k not having a ton of par

Thats the thing, the radium 20k has more PAR than the other 14k bulbs listed on sanjays site.

PPFD is 47 for 150w radium 20k w HQI ballast

PPFD is 37 for the Aqualine 150w 14k bulb w HQI ballast.

But I have no idea where the stuff that comes with the solana would fall.

I had a 2 1/2"wide piece of aluminum cut and had it welded to make an "L" shape. I then had it powdercoated black to match the stand and lumenarc. I drilled (2) holes in the back of the stand and attached the bracket that holds the light to the stand.

Here's a couple pics I took a couple months ago...

Heres my new Solana, I made the stand myself,I made it extra high at 40 inches, makes it nice for viewing. I couldnt see paying 200.00 for their stand. I got 70.00 into this one.I might add a door in the front later.
