Checked out the build thread -- looking good.

How quiet is your Quiet One 3000? I upgraded to a Rio Hyperflow 12 and it's pretty noisy -- I think mostly because it fits pretty snugly in there and is vibrating angainst the sides and bottom.

The pump is actually quieter that the stock skimmer not sure about the stock return pump because I never used it. It does fit quite snug though.

I have 2 azoo fans on it all the time and i don't have any heat problems.

I also have 5 fish; 2 occ clowns, 1 red firefish, 1 PJ Cardinal, 1 Neon Goby, 1 McCosker's flasher Wrasse.

I have noticed that my Nitrates have risen a little i think around 6-7ppm but i have been feeding heavy but the phosphates still test at 0-1ppm.
 
Has anyone got the orb and then changed out the bulb in it? If so, what bulb did you go with? I kind of like the look of the stock current 150, but would like something that brings out the colors of my corals a little better. Anyone have any opinions on a good bulb?

Also, what kind of fans are people using for heat problems and where did you get them? Do those azoo fans just clip right onto the glass?
 
I'm using the Coralife 24 Inch Aqualight Pro, 1x250W HQI MH Lamp + 2x65W PC + 2x1W Lunar LED. The 2x65W PC really bring out the color of my sps.

As for fans, I'm using Aquarium Chiller Marine Fresh DC Cooling Clip FAN 04 from ebay.

Monday I am getting mine with a phenix 14k bulb and will post some pictures.

I put the Phoenix bulb in yesterday and WOW :eek1:

I love the look--it also seems to be much brighter than the stock bulb.

I'll try to get some pics up in the next couple of days,
 
Anyone use the new vortech mp20 on the solana? I am about to buy either the mp20 or mp40 but am not sure which one.

Not that I'm aware of. I always that that was more of a problem with leathers? The only one I have is a green toadstool. I see lots of sweeper tentacles on the chalice, but I give it plenty of room so it can't sting anything. I also have decent spacing between everything to give it a chance to grow in without encroaching in a neighbor.
 
Has anyone had problems with their return pumps? My return pump has been working fine, until I did my water change tonight. When I went to turn it back on it will not work. Does anyone has any suggestions of what might be wrong with it, or what I should do in this situation.

Just tried that, still doesnt work.
 
You know I've had my tank about a month short of a year. My return pump has never worked properly...I have horrible flow! Added some tunze pumps to help out and that is basically where I get my flow from.

Man I really need to take some pics of my tank, it has been a few months.

Is anyone's globe rusting yet?
