Solana XL

After checking out the tank and reading the thread, I feel like the tank isn't competitive at all in comparison to the tanks that it is in the market with. For that much money, I think most people are going to spend the extra money and get a much sleeker elos or custom tank. And I have no idea how an unexperienced hobbyist would pay this much to get into saltwater. If they have that much money, and don't have the time to custom tailor a system to their needs, they're probably having the system set up for them by a professional anyway. And that video of the moron with a dogface in a the 34 gal is not proof by any means that all uninformed saltwater owners are like that. Just some.

We'll see, from early signs, the demand is there, so your opinion on this might not be correct, its still too early to tell.

You're probably correct, and we could argue back and forth all day long on what systems would be recommended to someone with say a $2000 budget, by a professional, I'm sure it would just depend on who the person went to for the tank setup, everyone is different. Some might recommend the new Solana XL, some might not try to go for the extra money and push an ELOS. Then some might just go custom straight up. Its all relative to who is doing the service.

Thanks for pointing out that all uniformed saltwater owners aren't like that one moron, but just the fact that ONE is, its making my point, they are out there. I don't think by me posting one individual's dumb decisions I was trying to imply all people were like him. Glad you've cleared that up.

All-in-all I think this is a great system, but I just feel being able to purchase parts of it rather than the whole thing would be ideal, at least for me, and probably most established hobbyist. That is just my opinion. [/B]

I dont disagree with you on this issue at all, as I said pages ago I would be much more interested in just buying peices of the system.

I have one and it is very well constructed and looks great.

I do need to make note that I work for another aquarium lighting company and can't go much into details on just about any subject.

This is a pic of the tank and I will not go into details on any other products seen in the picture.

ezcompany,

How do you like the tank so far? Did you change the sump any (refugium, skimmer, etc). I'm going with the 67 but want to change the sump a little.

I love the Solana tanks and think there constructed well and make a great reef tank. That guy on youtube is ridiculous, how can he think it is right to put those big of fish in that tank, unreal.

What does working for a lighting company have anything at all to do with disclosing the specs of your setup?
