Solaris Acro pics....

well I was able to get an update from the guy who posted pics of that acro under MH, then under the Solaris..... So here is the pic progression. It's not a perfect comparison since the pics are taken at slightly different angles, but I think the last acro pic is pretty impressive.... I plan on taking monthly shots once my tank is setup.



Acro in july 06 under 72" MH, 3 - 175W 10K & 4 - 39W Actinics.

Same Acro in september still under MH just before adding the solaris

same acro under the solaris for 3 weeks...

Thanks for posting the pictuers. It looks like that Acro is growing like crazy. I like how the Solaris brought out more color pattern on the two outside clams but I don't like what it did to the center clam.

most of the users are setting the Blue's at 80% and the whites at 100%, I will ask him what his are set at now... btw here is a top down shot

I was just reading about LEDs in another thread on RC. Found these;

$85 a panel. For a 48" tank, looking at $850, just in panels.

hmm, they look pretty good, They could be really useful to someone who want to use them as supplemental lighting for now or with a nano. I don't like the power supply for each panel. that would just be a mess.

I am sure you can wire the panels together and increase the mA output of your power supply. I built 3 moonlight LED set ups using cell phone chargers and the resistor needed to get the right voltage drop across the diode.
