Solaris Led lighting systems

Everything is up and running. So far so good. I'm still getting used to the 'blue' rather the 'white' light. I can adjust the white light level but have chosen to leave it blue. I'm holding onto my mh fixture for a month or so in case I need a back up. If I'm going to have any more bugs they should come up by then.

I'll post more pic's this coming weekend. Things seem to be opening bigger with the new light.

Thanks for the update will probably order mine in a week or so. Waiting to find out about the tank.

Glitter/Sparkle is produced by having a point source light. To put it bluntly, glitter is from shadows.

They are more discrete than T5s, and less than halides, so they'll run somewhere in between.

Thanks, Rich - at MACNA they had some LEDs set up on one of those tanks that overflows on all sides - it was really hard to tell one way or the other The color was beautiful though.

BTW, check your pms! :D

Solaris

Solaris

I have pics of my 220 gallon tank with my Solaris 13k. I don't know how to format the file extension, I'm not too computer literate, but anyway, I'll try to find a way, if yall would be interested, to post a link or figure out how to format the picture, so yall can see my 13k!

That was the choice I had to make. In the end I ordered the 3x250w Sfiligoi fixture with 3 ACLS units. At that point the LED unit looked cheap... the retail price for the Sfiligoi / ACLS is $5700 U.S.

How Much :eek1: :eek1:
Wow!
Good to see that some of the corals seem to be opening up better for you. Keep the pictures coming!
I for one would like to see the pictures triggerdiver. You can read tutorials in the New to the Hobby forum on how to post pictures. It is pretty easy. You just need to get a free photobucket.com account and then cut and paste the link address. :)

xlayedoutx, you can click on "Subsribe to this Thread" so when ever this is an update you will see this thread in your Subscribed Thread under MY RC.

All pic's were taken with the same camara. The Solaris light makes for much better close up pic's though.

Corals look real happy... under both lights :p LED's are looking mighty tempting.
Thanks for the pics-
Greg

Do you have a tank shot with the MHs before you switched to the LEDs? The difference between the first day and 2 weeks after with LEDs is amazing!

Now that I take a closer look- yeah, there is a pretty huge difference in how extended the Hammers and Frogspawns are. Were the pictures taken at roughly the same time of day? I know my corals look a lot different after the metal halides have been on for a few hours than when they first come on.

Gregr, they were taken about 3pm (all pics).

Man910, if you check out my red house or further back in the post you can see MH and Solaris taken the same day.
