Solid Black Nudibranch

Anyone ever see one or know the name? I have a pretty large one that has been in my reef for 6 months now and nothing has died or gotten eaten. I assume he is an Algea grazer but can't find any pics that look like it. Any help would be appreciated

Well if it's actually a nudibranch, it's not algae grazer. All are strictly predatory.

There are a couple of common suspects. Dendrodoris nigra is a nudibranch that feeds on sponges. It's one of the few that actually does well in the hobby, which means it probably feeds on common hitchhiking species.

Scutus is a black shield limpet with a white shell that's hidden by a fleshy mantle. Sometimes the shell can be seen through a slit in the mantle. This guy is a grazer that's mostly harmless but may occasionally taste sessile inverts.

Stomatella is a grazing snail with a reduced, flat shell. They're normally gray, but can be jet black too.

Is a Lettuce Nudi not actually a Nudibranch? They only eat Algea correct? I am about 80% sure it is not the Limpet or Stomatella.

It has been in a reef tank for 6 months now (SPS and LPS only) and nothing has died in this tank at all. I guess it could be eating sponges. It looks very Similar to Dendrodoris nigra (doesn't have the white tips or white spots just solid black) but has curled edges all most like a Lettuce Nudi but not as pronounced..

Very cool looing critter none the less.
