Solid red, are they rare?

I had never seen solid red zoanthids so when I saw these labelled "sand polyps" I had to get them. They are solid red, like flame angel zoa's, although the picture doesn't show it well.:( Are these more common than I realized and if so what are they called?

I have some that are very similar, they are much smaller than the usual zoanthids that you see. I don't think they are very common, but they are very pretty.

Sorry, forgot to add the pic. It's not very good, but I think they are similar. These are much redder in real life, my photography could use a tune-up. :) The ones on the right are actually red with teal centers.

Yes they are tiny compared to others. How long have you 2 had your tiny reds? Oh, and miss toy, remember me when you start fragging and selling the teal centered ones ;) :inlove:

I'm not sure if they are rare or not, but they are tiny and grow very slowly. If you can get them to grow fast please let me know. Here are mine which I think are the same as yours. They have the same metallic red look, slight ring around the mouth and a blue mouth area.

BTW, that is a nice size colony.

They have been imported a lot just recently in the past month or two. I just bought a colony for 20 bucks.

chuck,
do they look sparkley?

they almost look like those kedd reds.
It's hard to tell form the pic but there are actually about 3 dif. types there. All tiny and solid red but some have either orange, redder, or metallic centers or center rings.

IMO they're exactly like Kedd Reds, except that they have a metallic shine to them... Both the red and the blue... They definately have a pop to them... Though the polyps are similar in size, these lie a bit flatter in my tank...
