Some advice and opinions needed

Here is the situation, one of my friends has some beautiful zooanthids that he wants to give me.

Right about now you are asking "what does this have to do with fish disease?"

Well the reason he is giving me them is the tank has an outbreak of some sort of disease that is killing his fish at an alarming rate. My question is what would you do?

How do I introduce these zoo's to my reef without introducing the disease? Is there a dip that I could use? how long should I quarenteen them without spreading the disease to my tank?

The disease is unknown, but the fish fade, breath rapidly then die, usually overnight once the color goes. It affects angels the most, but it has killed all of the fish in that tank. What I will do is transfer the zoo's to my house in clean fresh salt water, we both use ocean water so I can put them directly into unaffected water, and rinse them in tank water several times after acclimating them to my water.

Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated, including thoughts on the possibility of the disease not being able to be transfered with the zoo's.

Thanks Phil

QT for 6wks. The disease that's killing his fish, maybe velvet, might be hanging around on the piece of coral he gave you.
Velvet can't infect corals, but they can "hang out" on them.
Dip and QT
