Some clam Q's

Hello all, new to the clam area here :)

Im thinking of getting a clam and have a few qusestions that I hope could get answered.

I read the lighting sticky and 90% of the threads here and there are a few things that Im still not 100% clear on.
Ill throw this stuff in list form to make it easier :).

1. Would it be a good assumption that any clam would do well at/near the bottom of a 75g tank with 2x250w DE MH 10k and 2x54w T-5 actinic? ( I run ~12hrs T5 and ~10mh)

2. Seems that water params should be kept at the standard?
PH 8.0-8.3
SG 1.025-6, (35ppt ish)
ALK ~10dkh
CA ~420ppm
MG ~1200ppm
NO3,4 PO4 as close to 0 as possible
TEMP ~80

3. Placement - Sand/rock?
Crocea-?
Maxima-?
Deresa-?
(didnt ask others because Im not interested in them but if someone wants to throw them in for completeness, by all means go ahead)

4. Is there a really easy way to ID the 3 above? The employees and the LFS's that I frequent seem to either be liars or maybe crayon eaters sometimes and I never trust them with any ID's that aren't obvious. (I see a lot of mislabeled stuff sometimes, dont know if they are trying to rip people off or just plain dumb/don't care)

Anyhow, TYIA and if theres anything important that you think I might have missed pls include.

Thanks again.

1- yes

2- shoot for natural sea water levels

3-in the wild all clams are most commonly found up on the reef. some species can be found in the sand but only in sheltered areas where the sand doesnt move or blow around. Croceas and Maximas will always be found in the reef. if you do use 2-250w mh you can place them just about anywhere you want.

4-find a new LFS and read this http://www.clamsdirect.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1994 and this http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-07/jf/feature/index.php and get this book http://www.liquid-medium.com/
