Some cool video

I was criticized for leaving Canon to pick up Olympus. The person who made fun of me watched this with me. He actually said sorry

I'm not sure what the big deal is... so they use people instead of machines when their lenses are polished.

Personally, I'd rather have a machine do it... they dont make mistakes.

Putting the lenses actually together is still done by humans at both Canon and Nikon factories... so there is no difference there.

The features like "pin hole" and "soft light" and "soft focus"... that's funny :) I can do any of things to my pictures in Photoshop in about 2 seconds. It's called "clarity" and "saturation" and "contrast"... you move a little slider and get the same result except you're in control of it instead of the camera trying to get the effect for you.

Anyway, just seems to me like Olympus trying to hype their product. I'm not saying it's a bad product, but any company can make a video that makes their product look superior with nothing really to base it off of.

Reacty, please don't turn this thread into a Brand vs Brand thread. It was a random video I came across. I shared my miny story and that was all.

That said, I have been happy with my cross. Selling off my 7D and one L glass bought me a very nice lens line up. In the end, I don't think it matters what you use as long as you keep shooting. :)

Rhaizo, I was definitely not turning it into a brand vs brand thing.

I'm glad you're happy with a Olympus, it's neat that they have built directly into the camera the ability to do common Photoshop actions, that saves valuable seconds in post processing. I also like that they hand polish their lenses instead of using machines, it reminds me of the good old days before robots started making everything faster and better and with less human error.
