Some crazy tds readings

So a buddy of mine just got him a new tds meter and he was telling me that out of his tap was like 280-290 out buy oak ridge and out of his ro was like low teens. so he brought it over my house to test it and wow. out of my tap was 14 and out of my ro was like 7. im not sure where my water comes from as i dont have a water bill. its just part of my rent i live in maryville but if i walk 20 feet from my apt your in alcoa. so like i said not sure who my water comes from but thats real good for either one. he was mad cause he said i dont even need a ro.but any ways i thought i would just share some readings.

That's crazy. On my side of town I get 170 out of the tap and 150 out of the water filter on my refrigerator. Do you think your building has one of the "whole building" filters that were a fad a couple of decades ago?
