Great snake capture!
I'm curious why you shot everything at f/10 1/30-1/40? I think the beaver and toad would have benefited from more shutter speed and they wouldn't have been hurting for DOF at say...f/5.6 or even f/4.
snake shot is awesome. As for the F-stop the "sweet spot" for maximal sharpness of any lens is generally in the middle of the aperature range. I often shoot at F8 and F11 unless I want a large DOF or need shutter speed.
It was a Tamron 28-300. Picked it up for a hundred bucks. It's focusing was horrible. In auto it takes forever and in manual it rotates almost a full turn. I was using manual most of the time, but I couldn't always get it focused without re-adjusting my hand to get to where I wanted to be.
I like that last one of the dragonfly very much! Interesting subject, good composition, nice background blur. The dark patches on the dragonfly's wings offer a visually similarity with the dark patches in the background that I find pleasing.
