Some days are better than others...

Wow, what an awful day! I need to share with a few people who will understand...

A few of the fish in my 65g are showing signs of ich, so today I drained the tank and moved some of the rockwork to catch all 8 fish and start 6 weeks of hypo in a temporary QT (45g Rubbermaid tub with a bunch of PVC elbows for hiding). I figured I might as well add the three fish in the 21g as well, since two of them used to live in the 65g and are likely carrying the parasite -- might as well get everything ich-free at the same time.
I moved some corals, changed some water in both tanks and believe me, that was enough work for one day. Then, after filling the 65g back up I realized we were short one fish in the QT... our little flavicauda angel was inside a cave that runs through a 15lb rock. It took ages to get him out.
Later I walked over to the side of the room where our 21g sits beside the computer desk, intending to relax and surf a little... and ended up with wet socks. I realized (to my absolute horror) that the 21g was leaking all over the floor! This is the second leak we've had in the space of two months, I couldn't believe it. So, all the rock and corals from the 21g had to go into another Rubbermaid and now they're sitting beside the fish in the other room while the 21g sits, empty and useless, beside me.
I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle tonight. Last month we had to break down our leaking 65g to replace the glass, now the fish are sick, the 21g is broken... I almost feel like getting out of the hobby for a while, I'm that frustrated.
I told my husband tonight I want to try to sell most of what we have and set up one larger tank (likely a 90g, maybe a 110g). I'd like to focus on zoanthids, which are probably my overall favourite corals and fairly undemanding. We'll get a good quality tank and stand, set up a QT to quarantine anything wet so there's no ich in the tank to begin with, stock SLOWLY and keep just a few hardy fish with our two shrimp (coral banded and pistol). Hopefully with just one relatively easy-to-care-for tank to look after I won't feel so overwhelmed, and the possibility of two tanks leaking won't exist any more :)
Phew! I think I feel better now.

Wow... sounds like you've been through a lot! Good luck with the new tank. Don't forget to post some pics of the progress! Good luck!

Hang in there, runs of bad luck happen, I've been through some rough waters lately too, it's worth it at the other end of the tunnel!

I hope so, I really do. We lost our blenny and yellow clown goby today, I guess the stress of moving into the QT and going into hypo (still lowering salinity, hopefully by tomorrow night it will be at 1.009) was just too much. It's so hard losing them, it's the one aspect of the hobby I really dislike. I always do my best, but there are times I just can't save them.
