concrete frag plugs still leach that is why there is algea in there
most people soak them for a few month before they use them
the ones from boston aqua farms are soaked in water for 30 days and still leach

What exactly do they leach that causes algae to grow. I ask because I just started using the Boston Aqua plugs and I noticed my pH rises but I figured that's from the concrete (excess lime) continuing to cure. The package says adding too many at once can restart a short cycle but what's the process underlying this? Do they leach NH4 or PO4?

i have soaked mine for over 6 months
