Some Jawfish advice...

Just got a SCREAMIN deal on a gorgeous blue spotted JF for my wife. He's a couple days in QT Meds. He's destined for a big rock plentiful 155BF display. What other gobies and bottom 1/3 dwellers should choose/avoid??

They come from Baja California and prefer temperatures around 22°C. Depending on where you live and how hot it can get there you might need a chiller

And cover your tank - they are notorious jumpers like all jawfish.

I would actually get a few of these fish if your tank is large enough - their mating behavior is quite interesting and it is always fun to watch them steal each others gravel pieces.

Good tank mates are Catalina gobies (Lythrypnus dalli) and its Californian relatives as they like the same water temperatures and are peaceful

Other nice fish from Baja are Holacathus passer, H. clarionensis, though these angels can get big.

Then there are the little sailfin blennies that to my knowledge also come from that region.

Overall you can make a very nice Baja tank.

Not from the region but requiring the same cooler temperatures would be Amphiprion latezonatus - just in case you find (like me) a reef tank without a pair of clownfish incomplete.

A little correction on the temperatures:
Since I'm interested in them too - I did a bit research and it seems they can handle quite extremes.
Since their natural distribution range is the lower third of the Sea of Cortez (Baja California) a good guide may be the average sea temperatures of La Paz (top) and Cabo San Lucas (bottom):

At least in the winter they may like it a bit cooler than your typical reef fish but it seems in the summer they can handle it quite hot.

With these guys I would probably prefer using a seasonal control (like you can do with the APEX) versus a stable temperature year round

Their breeding behavior is interesting, but outside of breeding can be quite aggressive with conspecifics.
