Some New Fish!!

My wife went and bought me a couple of fish for my birthday this weekend. She got the Falco's Hawk Fish and a Yellow headed Jawfish.

I don't have a photo of the jawfish right now. It is still a little shy.....

If I would have known it at the time, I would have bought a Blue spotted jawfish off of Reef hot spot they are on sell for $69.99 regularly $139.99:thumbsup:

I had one in my sons tank, (he's 12 had the tank since he was 9) I had to ask him first if it is ok, ( get along with other fish, maintenance and all that jazz). It died when the tank crashed last summer. I was a cool fish, I would hand feed it shrimp pellets, I called it my dog fish. It was neat to watch, anything that went into its den it would carry it out in its mouth (crabs, snails loose rock) you name. I plan on getting another, will check that store out.

Klaus here in town carries those alot of times, and is usally cheaper than on line. Might be worth checking out and seeing if he can get some more

I might have to because I still haven't seen the jawfish since Saturday. I had to move a bunch of rock around to see it then. It would be nice if he would stop hiding

I had a yellow headed jawfish and he was definitely one of my favorite fish ecer. They have so much personality.

At this point I just hope it comes out of hiding. I'll give it one more day. Then I'm going in to look for it.

Are yellow headed jawfish as much jumpers as the blue spotted are?

Not sure. I think most fish like that are jumpers in nature. My lawnmower blenny was the same way

I've had 2 yellow headed jaw fish and both jumped within the first week. I might try another once my other tank is set up.

I have noticed that a lot of people put the Jawfish in the same category with goby. Most likely because they are jumpers and they have about the same personality.

I don't think my jawfish jumped out. I have glass tops on my tank. I have a wrasse that I have saved twice after jumping out.

Good news:beer: the Jawfish has showed itself this morning for the first time sense I introduced it to the tank that is almost 7 days in hiding:worried: well it is still hiding, but at least I know where it is hiding.:dance:

Mine freaked with the lights coming on. Once i put on the dusk and dawn lights he was better

I really wanted a blue spotted jawfish but alas, I ended up with a cool red scooter blenny. I just hope he is eating.

My sister in-law let me borrow her SLR so that I could take some nice photos of my Fish Bowl. Now I'm thinking that I need a nicer camera.
