That is an awesome picture....so crisp and clean.....and no caffeine!
Thanks :) It's funny you mention that, I take a lot better, cleaner and crisper pictures if I havent had coffee that day.

I can just up my shutter speed though and help out with that if I'm a little jittery.

Well, the emperor's HLLE is definitely getting better. His forehead has pretty much recovered but the sides of his face are not looking good. But he is making progress, so hopefully after a couple more months it will be gone.

The flames are doing great... they seem to have settled in and arent chasing each other around anymore. If that means they have formed a harem, great! However, I doubt I'm that lucky ;)

All the nipped fins from the first week of getting used to each other have healed and they all look to be in great shape.

Still no signs of disease in the tank, so I'm really happy about that.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I'm thinking positive thoughts towards the emperor, maybe that will help ;)

I really am enjoying the tank a lot more right now than I ever have. I like this setup quite a bit better than I liked having all the triggers. The triggers were definitely cool, but this is just really more my idea of what a fish tank should be.

what protein skimmer are you using that keeps up with the huge feedings you give your tank ? what other filtration do you have on this tank? im loving this tank these are awesome looking fish!!!

I'm just running an AquaC EV-240, nothing too crazy. It's slightly oversized, but my stock list isnt small so I'd say it is just about right.

I also run ozone through the skimmer which I think helps keep the waste amounts in the water down, plus I run a 100 micron filter sock that I change out every weekend, so that helps keep particulates down as well and keeps the water clean.

Thanks. I laugh at the dussumieri tang at the begining, he is really whizzing back and forth wanting food :) Greedy little guy.

Wow that duss is HUGE!
I've had him 4 months now I think? He has gone from 6.5" to about 8". Maybe 8.5" I need to stick a ruler up there and find out for sure. I've heard they grow pretty fast to about 9-10" then slow down to just a couple inches a year. I really dont think he will fit in my 210g in 2 years time, but I guess we will find out!

He is a great fish, I'm really glad I got him. For some reason he doesnt look as fat in the video as he does in real life which is weird because cameras are supposed to add pounds ;) But yeah, he is a great eater, seems real healthy and doesnt harass other fish, YET.

He was the only fish so far of my "old" fish to not ever show a dot of ich while in the main tank, when the other angels and triggers definitely showed it. He has been pretty much bomb proof once he went into the main tank, he hid for a couple days but then came out in style. Definitely not afraid of me, either, he comes right up to the glass and looks at me from like 2" away if I put my face there, all the other fish run!

Very nice seeing those convicts going like that. All look sweet!
They really work together on algae ;) I'm glad I added them, they always hang out together and it is very cool to watch them eat. The only problem is they arent afraid of anyone, they push everyone out of the way to get to the algae clip. They dont do it in a mean way or anything, they simply just dont care about the other fish so they stop the less aggressive eaters like the majestic from getting to the algae clip right away. I usually have to put in a second one to get the less aggressive fish to get their stomach's full.

you can try what i do, i put the nori in two differrent clips and put them on oposite sides of the tank that way my majestic and lemonpeel get some while my orange shoulder and hippo tang destroy the other.

Nice video! Sure is a lot of activity in the tank now! Glad they are all getting along and out and about all the time. Very nice!

Well I suppose it had to happen sometime, I lost my first flame angel.

Weird because they were all 5 doing good on Friday afternoon when I took the video. I was out of town until now, I just got back here Saturday night and only noticed 4 flame angels out and eating when I fed. Sure enough, I looked around in the tank and found him.

He looked good, until I flipped him over.

I'm not sure what this large gash is from. A lot of the coral is real sharp so conceivably it is from getting chased by another flame and getting a little too close to the corals. Whatever the case, it's a bad way to die. Ouch.

I suppose the dussumieri could have done it as well, but he doesnt even act like he knows the flames exist, so I doubt that was the cause of death. Nothing else in the tank could make such a nice clean cut except the dussu or the new corals which are very sharp.

Anyway, it sucks, I really like all the little flames. From the look of the tail, it was probably a male. There are two flames that chase each other around in there a lot, so I'm hoping I had two males and now one is dead, so hopefully that stops. In the last half hour, I havent seen any flames chasing any other flames, so I hope that is what the deal was.

Four flame angels is barely enough for my harem, I hope no more have this happen.
