Some new fish...

Here is a shot of them after my weekly water change and prazipro added, they havent lost any appetite yet for sure, as soon as I come stand in front of the tank they all jam into the front 1/10th of the pane of glass.

I had to share this one, I almost never see the dussu stick up his fins anymore, which is a mixed blessing I guess. He only ever does it when he is irritated, so the fact that he doesnt do it is good but I sure like the way it looks.

He was trying to make the emperor move. It's funny to watch, because the dussu just flared up and tried and the emperor just bent a little and stood his ground, neither one gave up for like 30 seconds then eventually the dussu just decided to stand down and go swim besides him instead of take his spot.

Heh, the dussu is a gorgeous fish... it's hard to describe the way it looks in real life. The pictures do a decent job but it still isnt seeing it in real life.

He kind of looks like he is starting to grow streamers on his tail... I know they dont but wouldnt that be cool :)

I'm wondering what that grayish streak in the middle of the tail is, I dont remember seeing it looking at him, I'll have to look harder tomorrow.

That is the one bummer about the camera being nice, you can see a lot of stuff your eyes cant ;)

I just finished a Prazi treatment. It didn't change their appetite at all. The only difference in behavior that I noticed was on the day of the second dose, all of the fish seemed agitated. The Queen was rubbing on the Koralia, the Clown tang was swimming around super fast, and the other triggers were chasing each other and grunting. The next day they were fine.

I think I'm only dosing once, I only had enough Prazi to do a single dose and I dont think I need to do two doses, plus I already am going to be running 5 days without a protein skimmer, I'd really rather limit that and not start a second treatment.

At this point, I dont even think they have any flukes, I'm certainly seeing no signs of it but I just think since it is such an easy treatment it doesnt hurt to do it. I'd rather be safe than sorry!

I'm not sure it's HLLE, I think it's just signs of abuse and getting bitten.

BTW, try not to quote a post that is full of pictures ;) It just makes the thread huge and take longer to load.
Oh, ok.

Okay. lol AMAZING fish BTW!!

Thanks :) I'm really happy with my fish choices so far, I'm really hoping my flame harem pulls through.

Eh, I only dont care what you think when you go off in some random thread about something I said that no one else took offense to, especially the person I was talking to :)

If you're being constructive or helpful though, then I'm all ears.

I'm liking this mix of fish a lot, I hope they all continue to get along and not have any big issues. One thing I noticed the other day was a convict tang trying to push my majestic around, which seemed really weird. The majestic didnt really care either, he just moved a little then stopped and faced the convict and basically made him back off.

I just hope that kind of behavior isnt going on a lot, that was the first time I had seen it.

If I have to eventually choose between the convicts or the angel, the convicts are finding a new home.

Last time I treated with prazipro I also treated with copper and I noticed a definite decrease in appetite in all fish to the point that for 2 days, no one ate anything and then they slowly began eating again.

I think they had something to do with the copper which supposedly messes with their taste and also the drop in water quality as I had a little die off from my rocks.

This prazipro treatment I'm in the middle of now has done nothing to curb any of their appetites. I'm feeding a little less since I wont have the protein skimmer on for another 3 nights, they seem to be starving and are zipping around like crazy when I do put food in, so it's good to see they are maintaining appetite.

I hear you. It was a very uncommon immature remark on my part. I apologize. Hope its all good.

Do tangs become more aggressive when they school with others? Almost like a gang mentality?

I dont think so, but that's a good question.

It isnt as if they are grouping up as 4 and pestering the majestic, it was just one convict went over and kind of tried to herd the majestic around, which didnt get very far but still the fact that it was trying worries me a little bit.

There is one convict of the bunch who is definitely smaller than everyone else and he seems to be the only one who wants to cause any trouble with anyone, it's like he is trying to prove he is tough.

thats what i mean though. Its almost like he knows he has others so he puts on a show? Do they act as aggressive when just a single one is placed in a tank?

I dont know, to be honest. However, if I catch any of them picking on one of my angels again, they will find themselves sitting in a tank at the LFS.

I thought this was a neat shot of what it looks like to be tail fanned by a tang... I used my wide angle lens and got right up to the glass, he was trying to make me back away from his favorite spot. The focus sucks but the intent is still very clear :)

Thanks, yeah I thought that was pretty neat. It's exactly what a fish sees in my tank if the dussu doesnt like what the other fish is doing :)

Great tank all around, but your lemonpeel - which is not even typically a particular favorite of mine - is a very beautiful specimen.
