Some new fish...

Once the copper is out, you should know if it stopped the ich in about 2 weeks if none of the fish show it. It sounds like with the treatment you did it should have.

How much has your copper gone down so far?

Today, all of my smaller fish are eating and acting perfectly normal, and two weeks isn't up until Wednesday. Meat, pellets and algae, almost as if they are used to the copper level now.

My copper went from being between .5 and .6 to about .15 right now, it's almost the lowest it can be and still show color. I'm hoping by tomorrow or the next day, the copper is totally removed and I'll just leave the carbon in to remove residual copper that is leeching back out of the rocks.

I also ordered the 250ml size of Cuprisorb, I think I'm going to run that instead of carbon once it gets here, then I'll be able to put my cleaner shrimps and fire shrimps into the main tank, as long as I've not shown copper traces at all for a week or two.

Well, 3 days of being copper free and the fish are eating like little piggies again.

HLLE is still very obvious on the big emperor, but all the other fish you cant see it on unless I'm using the macro lens and getting a larger than life size picture.

Hopefully the emperor comes around.

I've got a new fish coming in on Wednesday so I'll need to make room in one of the QT tanks ;)

I am glad they are eating better for you.

What kind of new fish did you get?

It's a secret ;) But I'll get it in tomorrow and maybe post a picture or two.

My brother borrowed my camera again yesterday, he is flying to a remote village up here in Alaska and wants to get some good photographs so anyway, I wont have my good camera for getting pictures of the fish until next Monday or probably Tuesday.

Ahh, I hate secrets.;)

Well, as they say in "The Princess Bride", get used to disappointment ;)

I might not even show it until I get my camera back! Depends...

My brother always borrows my camera right when I want it :P

She arrived and appears to be in good condition. Active, although looks a little frantic, not the normal calmness I typically see when they are drip acclimating. The water is very yellow (hard to see in the picture because the flash whitens everything) and smells horrible, but the fish looks good.

Probably about 5" long, maybe a little closer to 4.5", hard to tell. I'm excited, it's a beautiful looking queen, lots of blue on it.

Online, ccritters.com. I've been enjoying working with the actual divers who catch the fish, it's nice and so far a pretty good experience. Plus you know your fish havent sat in a distributor's tanks for who knows how long, getting diseases and basically treated badly, then passed on to a LFS and the same thing, then into your tank.

This was caught on Sunday, sat in the diver's tanks for 2 days then now it's in my QT :)

Just a couple more pictures, I really like this fish. Angels are just so cool and this queen is no exception :)

Man, I am really missing my good camera. This queen is just finishing up the juvenile coloration, I can barely barely barely see the white stripes, I bet they are gone within a month.

Good size and beautiful fish. Florida to Alaska is quite a trip!
Yep, long ride ;)

I think her mouth is a little messed up, it looks to me either the net they caught her with or else in the bag while shipping, rubbed the top of her mouth and it looks a little raw and beat up.

For what it's worth, my emperor angel came in looking almost exactly the same and it went away within 3-4 days.

Well, these pictures are really crappy quality, but I wanted to show the amazing colors on this queen when the flash isnt being used. I've been waiting for a really blue queen angel to show up for a couple months now and finally got one in... I jumped on it when I found it available.

Unfortunately, my point and shoot camera without the flash has a really slow shutter speed, so the pictures are blurry, but I just wanted to show her coloration so the clarity I guess isnt that important.

I CANT WAIT until Tuesday when I get my camera back.

These were all just taken with a pretty dim room light on. I use that in my second bedroom instead of individual tank lights, as the fish dont seem to mind it at all whereas if I turn on even a semi bright light directly over their tank, they seem to just hide in the PVC.

That is a nice fish Dan. What is different on my fish is it has a lot of the bright blue on it's face, the color that surrounds the crown is also streaked down it's face a little bit. Looks very cool, imo.

Wow, just beautiful. Amazing colors on the Queen! Congrats!
Thanks. I was also told that the farther down they collect, the bluer the queens are. This one was collected at 30-40 feet, so I'm curious to see if it lightens up when exposed to more light like it will be in my tank.
