That is a pretty sweet outfit you got the fish from....I see what you are talking about with the blue on the face now. Like the crown is melting!

No kidding. I could fill my tank with some easy to grow corals for next to nothing. Some of the fish are almost cheap enough to eat at those prices!

The guy is great to work with as well, very polite and nice and he really seems to care about his fish. This was a pretty big favor to me really, I kept turning down queens until he found me a nice, very blue one, and he didnt even charge me any more than just normal price. I fully expected to pay at least double because he was having to search for it but he said no way, no one pays more than normal price for anything if it comes from him. I didnt argue with him ;)

I was able to specify the coloration, the size and buy it when I wanted... hard to get any better service than that. It was packaged really nicely and all in all, I couldnt be happier.

I had another company looking for a very blue queen for me and they told me for such a special queen it would be $250 plus shipping when they got one in...

Well, I needed more room in my QT and I didnt want to put a non treated fish in with my other fish and have to start their whole treatment over, so into the main tank they went. Man, still really wishing I had my nice camera...

The blue face is almost impossible to take pictures of. He hid nonstop in the little tank and apparently is going to do the same thing in the big tank. He comes out and eats off the algae clip, but only if I cross the room like 20' away, then he will come out. When I sit and watch TV from the other side of the room I can see him swimming around like he hasnt a care in the world, but as soon as I start moving he zips back into the rocks.

Everyone else is doing good though. I also took a picture to show the emperor's HLLE, it is slightly worse than the last picture I got of it. Hopefully this is as bad as it gets and it will start recovering.

And boy, do all the fish really love the addition of the cleaner shrimp and fire shrimp. The shrimp have only been in the tank for going on two days now and arent cleaning yet, but that doesnt stop the fish from waiting by their caves ;)

I started to really have aggression problems with the achilles, he was a really mean little fish. He pestered the majestic nonstop once I put him into the tank and it wasnt like nice little pestering either, he wanted the majestic dead.

I caught him and brought him to the LFS. There is an employee there who really wanted one so he bought him from me. I really like the achilles but he was just horrible to the one new fish. He didnt bother the blue face or the raccoon though.

I think I'll wait until I'm completely done stocking, then maybe try and add an achilles last so there arent any new fish going in after him for him to beat on.

Are you going to treat the QA ? If yes with what.
Nice new fish by the way just be careful with the other fish with aggression problems when is ready for ther big tank.
A nice good trick is to get a very large clear bag make a plastic inside frame for it you can use any thing even plastic egg crate and some plastic ty raps (i use a small PVC frame that i made from small part from HD) and make a small area for the fish to be able to swim around some ,you can make some holes in the the bag for "circulation and feeding" and put the fish in there for a day or two or till all the fish show no interest to it then you can let the fish go in the tank.
I don't know how much open room you have in your tank but the temporary area need to be as big as you can, i do this with all the new fish i get it works wonders .
I will also put some live rock on the bottom of the bag frame for weight.
You can reuse it as many time as you like .

Yes, I will treat the queen angel.

I'm just going to get it eating and happy in captivity (was just pulled from the ocean 3 days ago) and then I'll treat with cupramine and prazipro, hopefully kill off ich/flukes and some internal parasites.

I took some video today as well... nothing amazing and you can definitely see all my nice white buckets reflecting off the glass, but oh well ;)

Next time I take a video, hopefully I can turn on a tank light and turn off the room lights, would look a lot better.

The first video is much better, the second one is kind of long and boring, really... I just wanted to show how the queen was when I wasnt in the room.

Seems to be doing really good, it's already picking on nori and has picked at mysis too. I actually saw it eat a couple pieces of nori whereas I didnt see it actually swallow any mysis.

Very pretty fish I have to say again. Much more blue in the scales. Good call on the tang removal, you gotta do what you gotta do and quick like that sometimes. Crazy how quickly a fish can become removable once it attacks a fish you like more.

Beautiful Queen!! That will make a great addition.

Pains me to see that beautiful Emperor with HLLE, can he recover from a slight case like that or no?

Thats a bummer that you had to get rid of the Achilles,:( but if he was causing issues I guess it is not worth it.

The queen looks great in the videos!

Also did the place you bought the Queen from have a live arrival guarantee, or any other kind of guarantee on their livestock?

Nice addition! How long are you going to QT?
Well, I figure it will take at least a week, probably two, until the queen is settled in enough that I feel OK treating it. The treatment is at least 2 weeks, if not three... then I want to watch it another week at least, probably two.

So bare minimum of 6 weeks, most likely 8 weeks.

I think he can, he had slightly HLLE before and it went away real quick once I put him into the display... It's to the point now though that it is such big pits I'm afraid it might not totally recover, chances of some slight scarring and weird coloration around that area are probably pretty good.

Yeah, I will miss the achilles. Like Dan said, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes... I'm not going to let a delicate angel like a majestic sit and get picked on nonstop.

Yes, they have a website, you should look them up. They do arrive alive and I think that is about it.

Yeah Dana is a great guy to work with. Your queen looks great, just like mine but mines about an inch bigger. Suchs about the Achilles, maybe you should have just put the tang in time out like Dan does, it works wonders. Goodluck with everything.

Eh, I dont really like keeping fish that exhibit aggressive behaviors. He wasnt just kind of picking on the majestic, he was kicking the crap out of it nonstop. At first it was totally fine, then as the day wore on it basically never let the majestic stop moving, it just kept chasing and biting it and circling it like crazy.

Even if I had sumped it for a couple weeks/months and put it back in the tank, nothing guarantees later on down the road it wouldnt revert back to a killer... and I dont need to deal with that.

I might try one again as my last fish added, but I dont know... I already have one acan tang and I love it, I dont really need another one.
