Some new fish...

The cool thing about adding these fish is it is doing exactly what I wanted as far as calming down some of the more skittish fish.

The blue face, who always hid in the rocks, is openly swimming around calmly now. He used to duck into the rocks every time I went by the tank. Now, I was sitting right in front of it, arms resting on the stand and literally touching the frame of the aquarium. He swam right up like 4 inches from my face and was checking me out like I was the one in the aquarium.

He swims around just fine now. It isnt like he NEVER hides anymore, but he is much more comfortable seeming. I'm hoping this new attitude lasts and doesnt go away once everyone settles in, time will tell.

And it is still so insanely cool to watch the little flames dart around through the rocks.

And the last fish in for the day... lets hope he isnt the camel that breaks the filtration's back.

Yeah, like that dude is going to **** all over the place. You have a ton of seasoned live rock, all will be cool.

I saw him eating pizza and exlax in the QT, I'm worried hes going to totally blow my filtration out the window.

Carbon....lots of carbon! Maybe even some UV to sterilize that ****.

danorth-please keep us updated on the Venustus Angel when it comes. That and the Regal are the two must haves on my list. I tried one a couple of years ago before I knew about everything that can come in on angels and it didn't make it. It was just an amazing looking fish. It was also on the larger size, so maybe not as easy to adapt. I can't remember if I got it to eat anything. Good luck.

Well I put him in last night after lights out and this morning when I left for work it was still pretty dark but... I saw a bright orange blob chasing a dark red blob around for the 10 seconds I had to look at the tank in the dark.

So apparently it has settled in enough to start chasing the other fish around

It's 29 inches tall.

I canceled the order for the Chrysus angel this morning, I dont think I should be adding any new fish for a while, if ever again Although I really would love some anthias.

I'm proud of you, I know that must have been a tough decision. It can be easy to get caught up in the moment when looking at the divers den updates.

The lemonpeel angel has integrated surprisingly well... I thought there would be some scuffles going on but I havent seen a single one since I got home from work.

All the new fish are alive and prospering, every single one of them has eaten from the water column either pellets, pellet pieces, angel formula or else nori pieces shredded off the main piece. It's AMAZING how fast the water clears up after I feed nori. Usually the water has some real small pieces of nori moving around through it for at least an hour after I feed, but it doesnt anymore.

It is so cool how the fish are all seeming so much more comfortable now. The whole reason I wanted to add the school of convicts or the flame angel harem was as "dither" fish and it seems like it is really paying off.

I have 220 lbs of the round stuff, then about another 50-60 lbs of the coral skeletons. Maybe even 60-70 lbs, that stuff was THICK and HEAVY. I really should have weighed it before I put it in the tank, I wish I had thought of that.

Thanks, I agree. I really wish I could keep the coral skeletons that nice white color, but that is going to be almost impossible unless I turn my light amount way down which I dont want to do. Besides, the algae is giving my fish something to be constantly picking on.

The biggest thing I'm worried about is the coral is SHARP. I mean real sharp. Tons and tons of little tiny sharp pokey pieces all over each piece. If a fish does get chased and it misses a turn, it's going to be like sliding down a cheese grater.

Ouch! I can picture that one. Man, it is great to hear the flames are doing so well together. Or for that matter, the whole crew is doing great. Can't wait to add my new fish to the DT.
