Thanks, all. It's funny, this tank started off as something for my son (ok, that's just the excuse I gave my wife  ) but has morphed into this experiment. I got tired of reading so many threads on here that said you had to have so much equipment, big skimmer, reactors, ozone, etc. I have overheard conversations in LFS with employees telling people that they couldn't have a reef tank without a spending thousands of dollars on equipment. I have been in the hobby long enough to remember that I actually kept corals before most of this equipment was readily available and had success, so I decided to use this tank with (gasp) no overflow/sump. Just the limited filtration listed above. There must be thousands of threads on this website telling you what a POS the Seaclone is, and yet, here is a thriving aquarium with just that and a canister filter. Granted, I have several other aquariums in my house that have all of the bells and whistles. I have spent big money on equipment for those tanks and for the most part it all works well, but here is a great example of doing it on a budget with success. The key, as with any aquarium is maintaining water quality. The weekly w/c is the main method of nutrient export. Funny, this tank has less algae growth than my main SPS tank with the $2000 skimmer, phosphate reactor, calcium reactor, etc...
Roblack- not sure what type it is. It caught my eye when I saw it for sale, though. It was labeled as Echinophyllia Sp.
Hormigaquatica- Thanks! I really like that tang as well, he's one of my favorites. Hard to tell from the pic, but he is an african yellow bellied morph. The yellow is very pronounced in person. I really enjoy having fish in my aquariums. This tank has also a Coral Beauty, purple firefish, true percula clown, 2 fairy wrasses (exquisite and pink margin),fat head anthias, green chromis, and a cryptic six-line wrasse.
