Some new pics

Needless to say I'm a big fan of the T5's. I lost all of my acros colonies in a crash last Jan. 1st and was lucky enough to be able to frag most and save them. 80% of acros in the pics above came from that crash, all grown over the year to what you see now.

WOW! I really like that birdsnest! Do the zoos ever seem to bother the SPS when they grow around them like that?

Looks great. How long have you had it set up? I'm just woundering how long i have to wait to get a tank looking that good??

Thanks guy's!

The zoo's don't seem to bother the acros at all. As the acro grow, it just pushes the zoo's aside.

Tank has been set up for 2 years concentrating on acros Dansin. Before that I had it running mostly LPS and zoas for 6 months.

Something popped my GFI, turned everything off. It was so stupid, we left for the weekend and I usually have a couple of extra cords running to different outlets just in case. I didn't do it that weekend . . .

Awesome tank dude...

I love the whole layout and especialy the way you layered the red cap near the middle...

Oh and this is the first time I like the color of an all T5 tank...what bulb combination are u using?

Thank you Ceak!

I've had the powder blue for about 6 months now onad. Very territorial fish, aggressive with any new additions but eats out of my hand.

Here are some pics of my 30 cube that is plumbed into the same sump and actually sit's about 5" away from the 75.
I can't seem to get clear crisp pics with the lighting over the cube. It's a 250 MH w/ HQI ballast and 12K Reeflux bulb. The tank and colors looks so much better in person, I really wish I could transfer that with this cheapo camera.

You said you could not get clean crisp pictures. I was just messing with you. The tank looks great. I know how it is when the eye sees it one way and the camara get it another way. It looks like you are from the chicagoland area i was saying i would like to see the tank in person. I live in the south suburbs. I have a 47 gal. tank I set up 3 months ago dec. 30th. along with a 29 gal. tank plummed together all into a 75 GAL. sump, with protian skimmer and cal. reactor. It's coming along. I was in the hobby a long time ago had great sucess with spss and then had a big crash. I lost everything. I was upset couldn't figure out what happened. I took everything down and gave the tank away. I just kept the 47 gal. and the lights and protein skimmer all the pumps. It has been about 6 or soo years and now i am starting over again. I ordered all my filters for my ro/di unit and that's when i figured out what happened. I had a bypass valve go bad on my ro/di unit. I was dumping bad water into my system. It was a great thing to find out what happened. I feel alot better knowing what happened. I do think everything is looking great for just 3 months. I have about 60 pcs. of sps corols. I just can't wait for the mature look of tank like yours. Your tank looks great.

Man, 6 years of beating yourself up trying to figure out what went wrong when it ended up being the RO.
Good luck on this next tank, I'm sure it will be successful.
Do you notice much changes in the hobby after taking a six year hiatus?

Here are both the tanks, 30 cube and 75 gallon plumbed into a 30 gallon sump.

Biggest changes. There is more info being shared. Thats helps everyone in the hobby. I didn't know there were so many people in the hobby as there is now. I didn't know anything about ro/di water back then. We took water strate from the fauceit, put clorine remover and added salt. in it and added it to the tank we were always fighting alge. We never new wear we were getting it from, then we find out there are phosphates in the water. The test kits, the only thing you tested for was ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, and copper. One biggist change i notice is lighting there is so many different one's to choose from, the live sand the live rock they were just starting with that back then, when you would get it,it wasen't cured like know then you added it to the tank and ammonia spike,as a matter of fact i ordered my first peace of live riock from Hawiaii before they closed off Hawiaii. I started my first tank in 1990 it was 55 gal. reef we had to wait 2 months just for the tank to cycle. It seemed like eternity. All you started with was a few damsels. You didn't dare to put corols in the tank. I did water changes every weekend 10 %. Like i said now the day after you are adding corols and nice fish into the tank. We didn't have cal. reactors,no protien skimmers it took what seems like forever to build coroline now within a month or so your tank is full of coriline and looks like it has been around for a year or so. I think kent was just starting with supplements. Now you have so many supplements so many different companies making them it's hard to go wrong with any supplement from any major company. Feeding corols and fish i use to go to the store and get one or two pcs. of shrimp and cut it up into tiny peaces and feed them or use brian shrimp or flake food. Back then we didn't know what sps's were. This is a great hobby there is a lot of opinions out there and you have to read look and listen. Then take what you here and put it all together and use what works for you ,and get the results that you have and what you are sharing with all of us on reef central. Like i said looks great. I also like the eel. I had one back in 1990. Like i said looks great keep up the good work.
