Some new Rics coming my way!

I got my Rics yesterday!!! I began to worry a little because they had been bagged up and in a box for about 48 hours. Luckily these were all aquacultured and extra hardy! All of them survived the extended trip. I didn't get to take pictures because I went and took a nap after acclimating and placing them in the tank at about 6pm. The next thing I know, it's 8am and I have to get ready for my doctor's appointment. Even though they were slightly stressed, I could still see them really well.

Bubble Gum R. florida
One polyp, light carnation pink. Fragging left a little overhang that I can clip to have a second polyp of it :D

Orange and Green R. florida
The pic doesn't do it justice. The green is about right, but the orange is bright, neon orange and not dull with a brownish tint like in the picture.

Purple R. yuma
This is a HUGE yuma. It was about 2" across shrivelled up. It wouldn't surprise me if it was 3" across when it is fully opened. It looks like it will have green vesicles on a backdrop of a purple body.

Neon Green R. yuma
This guy is gorgeous. By far, the brightest thing in my tank. It looks like it might be slightly bleached, but not much. I can only imagine if it gets more coloration that it will only become brighter.

Bonus Blue R. yuma
This is probably my favorite of the group. The vesicles are pinkish red, but faint and the body is blue and slightly faint. I have a feeling that they will need to color up a little. I'm venturing to guess that I may have gotten ahold of a "Superman Yuma" :D :D :D

hey ya mikekman youll be second in line..lol..j/k..but i trade with travis every now an them..im glad you like the corals travis..
good luck with them....

Finally! Pictures!
Okay, here are the pictures that Bryan at Pure Captive took compared to the ones that I took. This will be in multiple posts, so bare with me. You'll have to excuse the pictures. I was truly playing with my camera and some were in hard to photograph areas. But, you get the general picture.

Bubble Gum Ricordea florida
These have been pretty amazing. I've never seen a color like this. I'm slightly disappointed that it isn't deeper, but I'm excited because it is unique. My overall satisfaction is 95% :D

Orange and Green Ricordea florida
The color of this one has absolutely blown me away. It is nothing like the picture and is the brightest thing in my tank. My satisfaction is 200% :D

Brightness Comparisson
This picture shows the new frag (upper right) and my frag of orange R. florida (bottom left). You can see how amazingly bright my new frag is.

Purple Ricordea yuma
This one is rather unfortunate. It isn't anything like the picture in my aquarium, but the picture was taken some time ago versus the time that I got them. It very well could have morphed a little in color. On the other hand, the size of it completely makes up for lack of color! Overall satisfaction 75% :)

Neon Green Ricordea yuma
I'm not as pleased with color comparisson on this versus what I got, but that is only slight. The color on this reflected light so well that I couldn't get a picture of it without white balance. It just flushed out my camera as light blue.

Blue and Red Ricordea yuma
What extremely little unsatisfaction I had with the other Ricordeas are completely made up for with this Ric. In fact, it makes up for the loss and then some. I can't put into words how excited I am to have this Ric and the curiosity of what it will look like in a few months. The pictures that I have of it do not do it any justice at all! Overall satisfaction 1000% :D :D

Very nice! I'll definitely have to check them out. What are their prices like on a "low" to "high" scale?

I just got a purple ric yuma last weekend for $10 and it's already the most beautiful ric in the tank. I'll have to get some pictures and share it with everyone. It's a lavender color with hot pink highlights in it :D

I would say "moderate" to "moderate-high". On the other hand, Oklahoma is saturated with good, competitive stores. So, our prices are rather low. I usually pic up Ricordeas at $10-$20/polyp if it isn't anything super special. For example, my teal and my blue R. floridas were $10 and my green with a pink center yuma was $25. Here is what I paid for with Pure Captive

Neon Green Yuma & Purple Yuma Pair: $50
Bubble Gum Pink Ricordea: $20
Orange and Green Ricordea: $20
Pink and Blue Yuma: Bonus frag
Shipping: $20
----------------------------------
Subtotal: $110
Gift Card: -$50
Friend that did paypalling that owed me money: -$30
----------------------------------
Total (Out of Pocket): $30

I couldn't have said it any better :D

You can tell Scott and me are from the South, huh? :D

Man, I wished I had a good picture for the Blue and Pink/Red yuma. If you imagine the pink look of the vesicles on my picture with White Balance with the blue body of the picture that Bryan sent me, then you would have it exactly.

I really look forward to seeing a gorgeous macro photo of it someday when you can get one.

I just took a bunch of macros of my new yuma, hopefully I'll be making a post tonight to show it off (assuming the colors come out right).

Maybe you can sell some frags to finance a new camera? You can get a pretty damn good one for less than $200 these days.
