Some of my LPS

These are some of my LPS. Nothing all that special. Just some nice finds. Mostly from my LFS...$80 or less.

I am pretty happy with their health for the most part. The colors are much more vibrant in person. Im not the best with a camera.

I dont really target feed often but I feed a pretty good tank food sparingly. so most of their growth is on the high side of medium speed. If I target fed more, I bet growth would jump. :)

very small 2 head lobo i got at the NJReefers swap in october. it was bleached out and near death from a vendor near our booth. I bought this and the next coral from him for $10. They have been recovering nicely.

This is the other half of the deal. We both assumed it was a scoly. Im not totally sure now with all the mussids coming around.
either way, its getting much better. it was totally bleached, skeleton receding and poking through....

Matt very nice corals you have there! I love that favia! Looks like PPE's or something! LOL! Any scolys of course I love... ;)

I love the Halomitra; looks like a really large one. The Scolymia is cool too.

For what its worth, I think the last photo is a Duncanopsammia, rather than Dendrophyllia though. Good looking coral either way.

Good looking corals matt. I would have to say as well that the last one looks like they are duncans rather than dendros. They still look good though. :)

COOL. i want a halomitra myself. only have found one purple one so far, and its not in the best condition

Nice Duncan...how does the back-side look? My buddy has a Duncan that he got with 2 heads and it has about 8 now.

Really nice pieces Matt, from the pictures that doesnt look at all like a scolly to me though, the way its encrusting looks more like a challice of some sort, maybe its just the way Im looking at it?

BTW I have a coral very very similar to your halomitra and always thought it was a lithophyllon lobata, either way they appear to both be very closely related. Have you found your one is able to plate out like a monti, or does it pretty much have to encrust something?

Thanks,

Jeff.

im not sure its a scoly either.. However, if it is a scoly, my bet is it could be an atlantic...(like I said up front--bought it from a shady guy)
i will post a pic of it expanded and eating...it may help the LPS ID'rs

The Halomitra doesnt encrust. It grows like a fungia, the edges grow outward with new skeleton and flesh. It doesnt attach to the substrate.. free living...

I thnk that "could" be similar, but if anything, a lithophyllon undulatum.

Thanks Matt, yeah I would be interested to see another shot of the 'scoly'.

Thanks for the info, I was just comparing our 'halomitras' and mine is identical in structure so I guess we both have one, Ill try and do some more research, its always nice to try and get stuff IDed. :)
