Nice shots and nice zoa's! I can't take photos under actinic to save my life. They always come out to blue.

Wow!! Some of those really POP under ther atinics. I wish I had some of those colors of zoo's in my tank. I like the red ones alot. +1 on the photo's they are great shots. I also have a hard time taking pics when just my atinics are on. It seems to wash out the colors in my tank on the pics.

Thank you guys there is nothing else I like more than zoas and palys.
Im really happy with the AI sol blue which gives that nice bright color to every coral.

Thanks for sharing

Are you using any additives at all ?

How longhave you had them?

Can you by chance share your parameters, lighting, bulb, watts, k value etc?

Your photoperiod?

What type of turnover and internal current and type do you have?

Are you running a fug?

How are you maintaining such healthy looking polyps?

Do you test your parameters, if so, which test kits are you most pleased with?

Do you have any daylight pics as well?

Hey thanks again for sharing and answering these questions as I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated by someone wanting to duplicate the success you are having.

Thx again, Mucho Reef

Thank you Mucho, I look after my zoas like nothing on this life..lol yes that much.
This reef is a 104G....60LX18WX21H. Its 6 months old.
Most of the zoas I have in the tank are 2nd and 3rd gen frags of colonies that I had last year
Before I was using ATI Sumpower 6x54w and about a month ago I changed to AI SOL BLUE and i have 3 modules in this tank.
I have 4 timers being the most intense period of time from 1pm to 5pm..60white\90blue\75rb.
I check water parameter at least twice a week..
Ph..8.2
Kh..7-8 dkh
Calcium 440
nitrates..0 never had nitrates
phosphate 0 never had phosphates
temp..78 to 80f
Sainity..1.025

I have a MP40Wes and a tunze wave box.
My sump is a 40 gallon with fug. live rock, cheato a bit of sand.
Pump is an Eheim 1262
Protein skimmer vertex 180 in
Phosban reactor two little fishes 550.

I perform water changes once a week 10 percent using tropic marin but before reef cristal, sometimes I do 2 water changes a week, depending on my time.
I clean the glass of my tank everyday and everyday check on everysingle coral tru a magnifying galss which allows me to see details.
I always dip my zoas when i get them with iodine and after fresh water with the twist till they are clean.

Every single polyp in my tank open alldaylong.
I feed cyclopezee every other day or twice a week, I feed fish very little everyday.
I think observation is crucial on the monitoring of your corals zoas etc, sometimes they dont like the place where they are or maybe too much lihgt for that type of zoa.
I conclude that blue zoas do better in medium light even in shaded spots.
If i did not answer any question please ask me I would be please to contribuite with my experinces...thanks again for reading...ohh Ill get a new pic of the tank with full light intensity...

This is a 1 month ago pic, since then I had changed few things...

Awesome reply and thank you big time

As I said to the other reefer, your info is ultimately beneficial to so many others who are reading your reply. I really hope we can see more of this with picture threads in the future.

Thanks again my friend.

explor3r, forgot to ask, how deep is your sandbed?

Is this a brand new system, or did you downgrade/upgrade to this current set up?

CUC ?

Another potential TOTM in the making, fingers crossed.

Awesome job to both of you.

Thanks, Mooch

I LOVE your colonies. Very impressive growth for six months.
Besides your obvious good husbandry feeding and light, do you find that the flow from your wave box (awesome by the way) also promotes such awesome growth in your zoa colonies?

I think flow has helped the zoas to spread yes, but as well I have some zoas in a part of the tank where I dont get much flow and the polyps are huge, where there is a lot of flow the skirts are long.
That being said I think zoas do go in any condition..lol thanks

Thanks for show us your zoas and telling us how you put all the time into making them breathtaking.
Its my pleasure

Led are awesome with colors my mh and t5 are nothing to close with the colors and glow
