Awesome pics, really brings back memories of my trip there in 2001. I remember swimming of gigas clams that were several feet. Amazing stuff there.

Awesome pics!!! Thanks for posting them :) What shark species did you see? Any Great Whites?

Thanks! yes the clams were incredible. all over the place to.

We went diveing in cairns whick is in northern queensland. We dint see anygreat whites. I would've liked to but they are only in southern australia. On the reef we saw alot of black tips white tips like in the pictures. we also saw alot of epualettes (sp.). The night dives is when we saw most of them. probbably the better dives of the trip

That's cool!! I used to be obsessed with sharks. I still watch shark week every summer (Discovery Channel). I can't even begin to imagine all the color you can see out there in person...from fish to coral to various inverts or crustaceans. Thanks again for sharing.

thanks for the compliments

What type of camera do you use, if I may ask?

I use a Nikon d40 in an Ikelite underwater housing. My macro shots are taken with a Nikkor 105mm macro lens, and my wide angles are taken with a Tokina 10-17 Fisheye.

cool I dove off cairns about 5 yrs ago on a live aboard. night dives were the best and the clams were amazing. You ever dive off of Heron Island (aka sharkville)
