I took some pics with various lighting, mostly with halides off, but I liked them, hope you do too.

Wow, some very nice corals you have there. Did you grow most of it from frags? Or do you buy colonies? Can you post what equiptment/lighting you use?

Thanks,
Whiskey

Whiskey both the larger stuff you see was bought on colnies some of the smaller stuff frags, I use 2 - 250 w AC 14k Halides supplemented with a combo of PC actinic and VHO actinic for a total of 280 watts. I run halides 5 hours a day, flow is accomplished with 2 - 3/4 ' penductors , 1-Tunze 6000 on a single controller and 1-Tunze 6000 , they are aimed at each other in the rear of the tank which forces current through the middle and underneath rock that sits in PVC racks. Additionally I have a SEIO 820 pointed at the center of the tank. I run 2 skimmer in a 38 gal sump 1 MRC-1 and 1 Euro reef. I changed filter socks 25 micron every other day. I cooked my rock for 3 months. Lots and Lots of snails, I just added 100 Astreas and 100 Ceriths yesterday.

I love your tank and your pix are always great.

Also nice to see someone getting great colors with such a low MH photoperiod, mine is 4 hours, and I plan on raising to 5, max.

Did you cook or cure your LR for a long time? It all looks so clean.

Beautiful tank, but 200 snails?!?! The tank looks so clean that it doesn't seem like you need them.

Curious to know how the Foxface is working out. I recently read that they may scrape the tissue off acros.

Rock was cooked 3 months, best thing I ever did for my system

i may be an idiot but could someone clever draw a diagram of the flow outlets as im having a hard time understanding where all the pumps and returns are facing.

Lower rear of the tank is a Tunze pointed at each other, the water forces itself under and through the middle of the tank, bottom stays clean this way. Additionally I have to returns in the upper corners on penductors creating a chaotic flow. If my math is correct my turnover rate is 100+ times. and particulate stays suspended until the overflow can direct it to the dual skimmers. Works for me.
