Thanks Ken, I'm still learning how to use the camera. I use the Sigma lenses and have the hardest time to get it to focus.

For macro shots try using manual focus with live view, it should make things easier for you.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I read it somewhere that when 40d in live view, the auto focus will not work, is that true?

By default autofocus is disabled in live view but you can enable it through custom functions.

I just bought the 40D yesterday. I haven't taken any reef pictures yet but am impressed with the ones from around the house/backyard.

Reefcentral uses post counts as limits for a number of features. The spirit of the idea is to encourage users to participate in our community. Without active, contributing, users this site wouldn't be the wealth of information that it's become. Users abusing any forum for the sole purpose of increasing their post count will have their posts removed and their post count adjusted accordingly.
