Ted, Your rock looks awesome. I know the feeling if wanting it to be all cured immediately and get it in the tank.

Are you going to cure this in the canal or out in the gulf?

BJ , Thanks for the kind words . I haven't decided how I'm going to cure the rock , but it will be in fresh water . Ted

Thank you Ladipyg . I didn't want the back wall to be flat . I want some places to grow out some frags . Ted

I can't wait, but I'll have to, until the pieces are in the tank and the water is in too. Ted, you are one of the most patient people I have ever met - creative too!

Looking forward to our next project! Thanks again for the help Saturday.

Diane

nice work, i just subscribe to the thread please post details, if you have the time. That is one neat looking way to help our reefs.

I used the snow white polybond tile grout from HD , but I think any of them will work . After I mixed the grout , I added some shell. I got the shell from a stone yard. I also added rock salt , that I got from HD . I used the one in the Blue Bag . To make the the frame work , to support the shapes , I used plastic gutter guard , and zip ties . Ted

I make my own frag plugs and small pieces and hang them in the water tank of the toilet in a mesh bag, like the kind from onions. Everytime the toilet is flushed it gets rinsed with fresh water....only problem is you can't do really large pieces that way...I am currently building a flush tank in my basement. A square rubbermaid tub, supported by cinderblocks. A piece of PVC leading from a toilet flange goes into my sump pump...I tapped a cold water line and the pieces are covered with water...a float trips the flap when the water gets to a certain level...the water rushes out, leaving a small amount of water covering the rocks, and begins to fill again. I have it set to flush 3 times a day, every 8 hours. This will allow me to make larger pieces of rock and to let them cure unattended....I can post pics and directions if anyone is interested....

how will you attach it to the back glass? and will that cause any problems as far as the water not moving behind it?
