Thanks for looking:)

That's far to pretty to put the snips to. Bring it all intact and we'll take the frags that occur during the move. :D

I cant imagine the prep. and addtl work it would take to move something as fully grown as your tank is - on top of all your other HH goods. I guess the move/UT is a dream come true with a nightmare in the middle.

Very nice Chris! The best acros are those we grow from frags into full-sized colonies! You really need to find a temp. home for them in the Knox area or setup a tank here in advance of your move or you're going to be in for one tremendously long stressful day. I'd offer a holding facility, but I have no room in my tank for all your livestock. Have you considered contacting other ETRC members about this?

Dave

Thanks for the kind words everyone:D

Been meaning to tell you I love the new avatar Mark....thanks for stopping by ye ole' MTRC:)

My wife and I cracked up over your "dream come true with a nightmare in the middle" squeak....so true.

I am waiting till I really get it fragged down to get an after shot....kind of sad though really:(

But necessary considering the plan.

Dave I very much aprechiate the offer but I have a plan(and can only pray it works).
I am fortunate to have three tanks and 2 that will support sps.
I am fragging everything down now and will be keeping 25-30 or so(hopefully less if I can stand it) small colnies/large frags of my favorites. I plan on setting up the 120 in Knoxville. Then I will transfer all of the contents of my 40 into my 29(this will be all softies and LPS). This frees up the 40 for transfer of the frags/colonies from the 90 for holding. I can then transfer the rock and fish from the 90 to knoxville and place them in the 120. Next I transfer the corals into the 120(which will be a BB allmost exclusively sps tank). Move the 40 to Ktown, get it setup and then transfer the contents of the 29 into the 40(which will be a DSB softie/lps tank). Taking down the 29 and keeping it for a QT "just in case" will be the last step.....

Please feel free to post suggestions or criticisms. I'm thinking it should work but there is allways something or someones experience that could make part of it easier...sometimes much easier.

thanks, Chris

Best of luck on the move.
You've got that game-planned out pretty nicely.

I'd be missing out if I didn't.
You've got quite the share of sweet tanks/photos and nice people ... must be in the water ;)

Here's the whole avatar shot ... had to crop out the tank in the backround for the avatar. Thanks for the compliment ... accidental great photo.

Chris,

If you can get a power inverter to run some heaters and powerheads, you'll be fine in the move. I moved up from Oxford (4 hours away) and everything was out of the tank from 10:00am one morning until about 3:00 PM the next day and I just ran heaters and ph's. I have one you can borrow if you need. It only has two outlets, but you can hook a power strip up and power all you need. (up to 1000W).

Mark-nice Phala. I've lost a lot of mine over the last few months due to mealy bugs (and somewhat to neglect). Got a solution to that, though. Did the following scene have a kitty trying to bite the buds;)? Mine like to rub on th eleaves and every once in a while they do a nice piercing of the leaves;).

Thanks Gary,
I very well might borrow the inverter. Shouldn't need the heater due to the time of year but the water movement should help a lot. I have several battery powered pumps but not enough to keep everything aerated I'm sure.
thanks, Chris

The tank looks great. I am sure will have it back to looking as matured in no time once you get to Knoxville. My recommendation on moving to make sure to have at least one other EXPERIENCED reefer on hand. I made a few mistakes that I shouldn't have when I moved my tank because I was so stressed out that I wasn't thinking. Your plan sounds like a good one to me. As long as something doesn't go terribly wrong, you should be fine.
