Some Pics

Your right. only SPS and LPS need it but it is in natural sea water and it is needed for coraline algae, snails, crabs, and other calcareous life forms. Those are halides 3X150 DEs 10,000K and 4 PC actinics.

10,000K? Why not 20,000K? I could understand not getting 17,000K, because obviously, we're not shooting for growth, but more of color. I thought that 20,000K was best for color?

Yes, that is a beautiful tank. That is what I am shooting for with mine. Ron, tell Brock what you explained to me about the lighting, if you would, I cant explain it.

Brock PAR is a far more important matter than color. Without PAR nothing will grow to have color. PAR is higher at lower K ratings the higher you go you loose PAR value.

Okay I was also told not to put a wave box in a 4ft tank as it would blow the end out of the tank over time. Did I miss something, or did that person just have it turned to high.

I would not put it on a 75 personally, although I have read many accounts of people doing just that. I prob wouldn't put it on a 90 either but there is a way to achieve a happy balance and not "blow the sides out". I am pretty sure however if I tuned it up like the one at the shop I would be able to shake a smaller (thinner glass) model tank apart.
