Very Nice! :smokin:

Only one problem......

I see a few places that you could add a frag or two, maybe three...

Great job, nice coral growth, and the fish look fat and happy.

Thank you very much for the nice comments!

ATP,

Thank you! Scary enough I was at the LFS yesterday looking for something to add.

Conceyted,

Believe it or not I didn't pay anything for that coral. I am a member of the Chesapeake Marine Aquaria Society and I got it as a frag for free from one of the guys in my club. This is the same coral shortly after I got it

MikeEe,

Thank you! Per you question, here is my equipment:

120gal Bare bottom w/starboard AGA Reef Ready Tank
4ft PFO/Icecap Hood
2- 400w 10K XM MH running on a PFO standard ballast
2 -110w URI VHO super actenics running on a Icecap 660 ballast
Standard GEO Calcium reactor running ARM reactor media
DYI Kalkreactor made by geofloors (CMAS Club President)
25w Integrated Aqua UV Sterlizer
ETSS 600 protien skimmer driven by an Iwaki 40 pressure rated Pump (Japan).
Mak 4 return pump
Kent Marine Hi S RO/DI
2 - Tunze 6080's
2 - MaxiJet 1200s on a wave timer
Instant Ocean Salt (made the mistake of switching once and paid the price).
I run Seachem Purigen wedged in my overflow 24/7 and run carbon most of the time.
Occasionally to rarely run rowaphos in a phosban reactor with the output dripping into micron filter so no residual phosban gets in the tank
5 -10 gal water changes per month

Thanks RIK!

I am having my CMAS tank tour in late August so come on over and I can give you back some frags of some of the stuff you lost while you were on vacation!

Chrisrush,

Yes that is the same tank is in my website in my signature but none of the info on that site is current. I reset this tank up about a year and a half ago as a bare bottom and upgraded a lot of the equipment to the stuff listed above. Per your question about the fish, I have a: Yellow Tang, Sailfin Tang, Kole Tang, Hippo Tang, 3 Lyretail Anthias (1 male, 2 female), Mozambique Blenny, Sunrise Dottyback, 6-line Wrasse, Splendid Dottyback, Percula Clown, Royal Grama, Flame Hawk, 3 Chromis, Keyhole Angel and a Naso Tang.

Great tank!! Thanks for the pics.

Some questions if you don't mind,...

How wet do you run your skimmer? What is the skimate color like, and about how much do you get in a week?

How often do you feed your fish and about how much food?

How high do you have your MH off the water, and what is your photoperiod?

Thanks,
Whiskey

Deepsea2005,

Thank you very much!

Wiskey,

Thank you! I run my skimmer semi wet. I get about a gallon of skimmate every week and a half. This is an old picture but this about the consistancy or a little bit lighter (photo below). I feed the fish everyday a combo of OSI Spirulina, Marineland Labs BIO-Blend, Omega One Marine flakes and Ocean Nutrition Prime Reef. I tend to feed on the heavy side. I used to feed light and didn't get any coral color. I was at a friends who has a gorgeous tank and I watched him feed his tank. He was feeding in one sitting what I was in 4-5 days. I told him I couldn't believe how much he fed and he said that is why my coral looked bad. The key to a happy coral is feeding it a lot of fish poop! You can't let it hang around too long so you need good flow and good skimming but poop is the key :) :fish1: My lights are apx 10 inches off the water. My actenics come on around noon and go off around 10pm. My haides come on around 3:15 and go off around 10:15

Rich,

Thank you! I am not sure what that one is? It came from CMAS Vice President, TomD. In his tank it is very table-ing. Mine seems to be heading that way as well.

Very nice tank, I like the fish choices you have made, do you plan to upgrade to an even larger system at some point and move all those fish over?
